Election results impact on the markets, 3-D Printing stock update and other notes

November 5, 2014 by Cody Willard

Stocks on rally mode again today. Shocker? Not exactly, huh?

I find it silly to think that there’s anything but a nuance of difference in the corporatist, warmongering, big government/big business policies of the RepublicanDemocratRegime’s change in “leadership.” A little awareness of political realities goes a long way to helping see past the noise. If we’re going to be kicking a party out of office, it should be the RepublicanDemocratRegime entirely. Looking at the world through partisan glasses would sure seem like a handicap to being objective about markets/economics/politics, etc. There is no easy solution to unwinding the mess they’ve made of our a Constitutional-based nation, but for starters, I would suggest forcing people to write-in their candidates’ names instead of ballots. Anything that would disrupt the power-centralizing of the RepublicanDemocratRegime’s control of the election processes would be a great first step. I refuse to waste my vote on anybody vetted by the Republicans and the Democrats.

Stratasys, our remaining 3-D Printing play is down today after saying its earnings will be a few cents lower than the $2.30 or so that the analysts expected this year. Topline growth still through the roof. It’s an acquisition they made that they say is to blame for the lowered earnings guidance. We originally added that stock at a lower price that today’s quote and we’ve of course traded around a core position and trimmed near highs.

$MSFT‘s new CEO didn’t learn anything from Zune, Kin, and all of Ballmer’s mistakes of rushing new products to market before they’re ready? Sigh. Least surprising headline of the morning: “Microsoft’s new fitness watch is still a work in progress”http://t.co/KFT43Ui8kI

I’m working on updating my Latest Positions and giving a new Revolution Investing rating to each stock in the portfolio, so keep an eye out for that later today or tomorrow.

No trades for today.
