I’ve bet my career and my money on the App Revolution. And as I loudly and repeatedly predicted five years ago, the App Marketplace has already become one of the single largest markets in the history of the planet. You have billions of people using billions of smartphones (and tablets and wearables) using trillions of apps every day. Some of those apps like Netflix charge you a recurring fee and generate billions of dollars for their shareholders. Others are generating pennies per day for their shareholders as Google and Apple place ads on the apps. Of course, Google and Apple are generating billions of dollars off those ad platforms their own shareholders too.
The main reason we use so many apps so often is because they are the easiest and most streamlined way for you to access whatever it is you’re trying to get at on the old Internet. Data, information, media, movies, TV, news, sport game spreads, Fantasy sport leagues, and, yes, finance, investing and trading. Every trader and investor has their own own favorite app or two, but I doubt there’s anybody out there who’s played with, analyzed and spoken to the executives of as many different finance-related apps as I have.
By far my favorite app is the one I ended up joining as Chairman and largest shareholder — Scutify. We got so serious about the app revolution at Scutify that we have launched three separate apps for both Android and iOS. The primary Scutify iPhone App and Scutify Android App have been downloaded by hundreds of thousands of investors and traders who made hit #1 in the Finance Section of the App and Play stores at various times in the last few years.
The Scutify Sentiment app (available for iOS and for Android) enables users to quickly gauge what the sentiment for individual stock names which collectively has been a terrific contrarian indicator for the broader markets. That is, when the Bullish vs Bearish Sentiment consensus drops below 50%, the market is about to pop. And when it pops above 90%, look out below.
And if you’re new to the markets or if you’ve got a new approach to the markets that you want to test out, the Scutify Hedge Fund Manager app (available for iOS and for Android) allows you to simulate your trades with a $100,000 paper money account. We even give away real cash prizes for the best performing “hedge funds.”
