A few earnings updates and trades to alert you about.
VIAV results were very strong, guidance looks pretty fine. 5G is the growth engine there and the stock remains cheap if the 5G growth continues to accelerate as I expect it will. I’m adding another tranche of this one today today and probably a little more early next week. Consider this another buy Trade Alert on VIAV. I will leave room to add more to it in coming weeks.
SNAP results show it’s going to live to fight another year or decade.
Snapchat’s annual revenue:
- 2018: $1.18 billion
- 2017: $824.9 million
- 2016: $404.5 million
- 2015: $58.7 million
- 2014: $3.1 million
I trimmed a tiny bit of SNAP common today and sold a few call of the options in the hedge fund that I have. Will hold it mostly steady for now.
CALX was not good, not terrible like say ARLO (did you guys see that one?). But I’ve long said that this is a binary outcome kind of stock and that we should keep it small because of that. I’m not going to rush out of it all at once, but as most other 5G suppliers are reporting strong growth and CALX missed, it’s probably time to move on from this one in coming days. Consider this the Trade Alert to close out Calix from our portfolio.
