A Zoom Meeting About Crypto Security, Highest Conviction Longs, Starlink’s Applications, Etc

Here’s the transcript from yesterday’s brief Live Q&A Chat.

Q. Cody, a couple of weeks ago you said you would investigate hard drive crypto wallets for moving your SKTL tokens from your Metamask wallet. Do you have any recommendations for doing that?

A. I’ve not played with them yet. I have big plans to try several out, but haven’t done so. Here’s the plan — I’m going to schedule an open meeting focused on various security solutions for our cryptos. The date of the zoom call will be September 6 at 11am ET. Same zoom link as usual:

Q. What are your 3 highest conviction longs and shorts now?

A. Longs: TSLA, INTC, META and RKLB. Shorts are trickier here as so many of my favorite short names have already crashed hard and I’d be leery of mentioning too many specific names that could suddenly get squeezed or otherwise rocket higher. No pun intended despite ASTR being one of my long-time favorite shorts as previously noted.

Q. If you follow $BBBY, what are the odds of it going bankrupt within the next 6 months?

A. In the next six months, I’d say 30% chance. In the next two years, I’d say 90% chance.

Q. Thoughts on UBER’s numbers from their last report? What number would you assign now on your ranking scale to it? Thank you Cody.

A. It was a good report from UBER, showing the strength in their diversification of revenue streams. I’d rate UBER a 7/10 right now.

Q. A year or two ago you suggested that start-up Immersive was interesting enough to make a small investment. Have you been taking positions in any other start-ups on Republic, Wefunder or other similar sites?

A. Not much no. The bubble was too big but now that the bubble has popped I will start looking at some of those startups again.

Q. The CEOs of SpaceX and T-Mobile will join forces on Thursday to reveal how their companies will work together to increase wireless connectivity. Details about the announcement, set to be live-streamed at 7 p.m. CT (5 p.m. PT) from SpaceX’s Starbase facility in South Texas, haven’t been made public. But the plan seems likely to involve using SpaceX’s Starlink satellite constellation and T-Mobile’s cellular network to boost subscribers’ access and both companies’ fortunes.

A. The various applications that a fast global satellite internet network are more than we realize and these constant new partnerships that SpaceX keeps announcing underscore that.

Q. Cody would you consider taking a look at BKSY again. With recent announced contracts it seems to validate your vision they there is a real business behind this company.

A. I still follow it and might consider buying it back if they can deliver a couple good quarterly results in a row. They haven’t done so in a long time.

Q. Cody, ASTS which operates space-based cellular broadband network for mobile phones, has doubled in price over the past two weeks. I couldn’t find any news to justify the price jump but wondered if you know the answer to that and what you think of the company’s prospects for future growth.

A. I think ASTS is not a good company and I don’t like their management’s histories. In fact, I just started buying some puts and otherwise betting against this stock in the hedge fund. ASTS is heavily shorted and has been squeezed with the meme action and I think it will be back below $5 in a couple months, feet-to-fire. I’ll be trading around a short position on this name using mostly options in the hedge fund for a bit here. To clarify your statement on ASTS, they don’t operate a network, they just have been plans to try to do so.

Q. Hey Cody. Anything on the LLAP and ROK writeup?

A. LLAP is a speculative space stock and like all speculative stocks lately, it’s been trashed. So I’ve been patient about it and will send out a report when I start buying it more aggressively. ROK is a great company and I will send out a report on it asap. I’ve got most of that one done.
