Latest Positions Stragglers

Here is a few stragglers from the list my latest personal portfolio positions and most of the hedge fund positions with updated commentary and ratings for each position.

The ratings for each position go from 1 to 10, 1 being “Get out of this position now!” and 10 being “Sell the farm, I’ve found a perfect investment.” The positions that are bolded are those that I consider to be “core” holdings and am unlikely to ever sell out of them entirely.

Longs –

    • ABNB AirBnB (8) – Recall that from 2008 to 2012, I was all about The App Revolution. This company is one of the reasons why…
Here are the top three reasons to own AirBNB: The company is already a verb. The company has a critical mass of hosts and guests. The company Revolutionized the hotel industry. Valuation’s not great 11x this year’s sales, but the growth here is going to be amazing for years to come. With 75% gross margins and a ton of cash at its disposal, this looks like a great long-term investment.
    • INFI Infinity (7) – A rare penny stock play for me, this oncology company has started delivering some very compelling data but the market continues to dismiss the potential. We’ve had a heck of a move with a 50% rally in INFI since we added it just a month ago. I will look to trim a little bit of my hedge fund position here near $4, but am holding most of the shares steady.
    • ETH Ethereum (8) – The world’s open sourced, blockchain-based supercomputer continues to enable new innovations in crypto and computing and NFTs and etc etc. I’ve owned ETH since it was less than two years old and I plan on holding most of it forever.
    • NKLA Nikola (7) – I’m in this one for a shorter-time frame trade that my usual approach, as this is a position that we flipped from short to long on this name near $10 a few weeks ago. The stock has been left for dead, but if you listen to what GM says, they continue to indicate that Nikola is actually a great partner and is on track to deliver a working truck or two by the end of the year. That would likely get this stock going again, but I keep this position smallish.

I continue to look for new names and I’ve got a couple that I’ve warmed up to, so stay tuned for those Trade Alerts this week or next if I start to build these new positions. Otherwise, be careful out there with the broader indices and with the small cap speculative names that have been crushed so badly this year as I warned they would be.

We will do this week’s Live Q&A chat at 1pm ET Thursday in the TWC Chat Room or just email us your question to support@tradingwithcody.com.
