"Blackwell is not a chip, Blackwell is the name of a platform." – Jensen Huang at GTC 2024.

Nvidia is about to pull an Apple. For decades, Nvidia sold individual graphics processing units (GPUs) which were merely one component of larger systems, whether those be PCs, servers, cars, or robots. Along with GPUs, those systems included CPUs from companies like Intel and AMD, networking switches from companies like Juniper and Cisco (with ASICs from Broadcom or Marvel inside), cables from companies like Amphenol and TE Connectivity, and software from Microsoft and IBM, all packaged together and sold to the end user by companies like Dell, HP, and SuperMicro.
