Random thoughts, good reads and other notes
Don’t forget to join me for this week’s Live Q&A Chat at 2pm ET today at http://twc.scutify.com/members or on the Trading With Cody app.
Some random thoughts, good reads and other notes in the meantime:
Drone Revolution quietly bubbling ahead – A new video released by DJI presents the Phantom X Concept drone, including a bunch of new(ish) and (kinda) useful technology. Claiming to “turn wide-eyed dreams of future possibilities into fact”, the Phantom X includes multi-angle shooting, artificial intelligence, obstacle avoidance and free-flight object tracking.https://youtu.be/ec1EF2UaQ4U
Artificial Intelligence – I am writing a book called “Best Stocks for the AI Revolution” and would love to hear ideas and AI-related stock picks from any readers.
Virtual Reality – Anybody out there used this Google Cardboard VR headset? Read this too – Why ‘The New York Times’ VR app gave some people double vision this weekend”
App Revolution in motion – 60% of business execs reach for their smartphone as soon as they wake up
No joke – The Wearables market growth is huge.
Remember this – “Energy, solar, bankruptcies and other theories” Published: 1/22/2015: “Oil companies and energy companies and countries that depend on energy and oil will be hurt badly and many will go outright bankrupt in coming years.” With $MHR about to go bankrupt this week, along with dozens more co’s that were worth billions just a year ago, just exactly as I’d repeatedly warned last year and throughout this year, we’re slowly but surely getting closer to a bottom in oil-related stocks. But not yet.
Strange – People get passionate about their favorite operating system, which is a bit strange and like something out of a bad sci fi movie when you think about it.
Good background and information – THE INTERNET OF THINGS 2015 REPORT: Examining how the IoT will affect the world
Funny – Apple TV apology.
Fascinating – Where America’s newest citizens come from, by state: Mexico, India, Philippines, Dominican Republic top country of origin for naturalized Americans by state”
Cool – Ohio high school senior Ryan Chester became the inaugural winner of a new college scholarship on Sunday night, winning $250,000 for his 7-minute film that uses simple props and hand-drawn graphics to explain Einstein’s special theory of relativity.
