Rate Cut Ruckus, Market Jitters, Tesla's Big Bets, And Much More
We’re diving into the Fed's rate cut potential, the market’s wild swings, and Tesla’s big ambitions.
Here's the transcript from today's Live Q&A Chat:
Q. "Fed's Dudley now calling for Fed rate cut next week amid recession concerns."With a rate cut possibly on the table in September, do you stand by your earlier analysis that initially the market will pop on euphoria and then come down to reality realizing rate cuts are done to avoid an impending recession?
A. Yes, and the markets could get very ugly if the Fed Head Dudley gets his wish to cut rates next week!
Q. On a scale of 1–10, with 1 being grim and 10 being very optimistic, what is your near-term outlook for the broader markets? I know you love the longs in the portfolio but asking on the broader markets.
A. I was probably at about a 3/10 when I wrote this two weeks ago before the Nasdaq 100 (QQQ) pulled back 8%: "I am a bit worried that this market is too euphoric and ready to get its butt kicked like a cocky 7th grader who just met a bigger 9th grader." I'm closer to a 4+/10 on the broader markets right now.
