Bryce here. Here's the transcript from today's Live Q&A Chat hosted by me:
Q: What are your thoughts on markets and the general economy over the next 6 months?
A: The economy is pretty good right now but I think consumer spending has slowed down slightly and that trend will likely continue. People have slowed down spending not because they are worried about the economy, but because they have less cash than they used to and everything costs so much more now. As long as unemployment stays super low like it is currently, there won't be any real problems with the economy. That said, tech companies have continued their trend of layoffs (Intel (INTC) announced a pretty big layoff yesterday), and eventually unemployment might become a problem again. But then again, if the promise of AI comes through quickly enough, then corporate margins will go up a lot and economic growth could actually accelerate, assuming we find new/better jobs for everyone who loses one because of AI.
