May 20, 2011 by Cody Willard

Here's a list of my positions, in approximate order from largest to smallest, though the variations between relative sizes are decreasing as time wears on and I get these longer positions built up.   We'll have some shorter-term and newer name trades in coming weeks to complement these  longer-term positions. Longs … [Read more...] about Here’s a list of my positions, in approx…

May 19, 2011 by Cody Willard

After having flagged them as I was doing them for you dear subscribers, I've still got my GLD and SLV puts which have some big profits on them.  I just added to the hedge of those a by adding some more DBA.  Here's what the DBA profile is: The investment seeks to track the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the Deutsche Bank Liquid Commodity Index - … [Read more...] about After having flagged them as I was doing…

May 13, 2011 by Cody Willard

Quick bulls, what’s the bear case?!  And tell right now, bears, what’s the bull thesis? Several years ago, I trademarked the term “Flip It” because I noticed how crucial it is for great investors, traders, thinkers, business people, comedians, and everybody to flip conventional wisdom upside down.  The old saying, “Buy when others are fearful and sell when others is greedy” … [Read more...] about Quick bulls, what’s the bear case?!  And…

May 11, 2011 by Cody Willard

Let's review what I've been doing to re-build my portfolio in broad terms. From a strategic standpoint, I've been buying the best companies I can find in the App Revolution and the Cloud Revolution which I think will explode into a new bubble in coming years and I've complimented those longs with long positions in the commodities-we-consume like the DBA and a huge … [Read more...] about Let’s review what I’ve been doing to re-…

Silver has dislocated itself to the down…

May 11, 2011 by Cody Willard

Silver has dislocated itself to the downside again today, losing almost 5% this morning and making our SLV puts pop.  Gold down.  It sure seems to me that silver and not gold is the driver of the direction of the precious metals everyday. Nice gains in the portfolio again this morning and I've not pulled any triggers so far today. As noted by one of our loyal subscribers, … [Read more...] about Silver has dislocated itself to the down…

May 2, 2011 by Cody Willard

And there's the market's intraday fade that I was talking about in the post last night about what to expect from the market upon the news of Osama Bin Laden's death. The morning pop and subsequent reversal weren't nearly as dramatic as they were the Monday after we caught Saddam Hussein, but the same sort of reversal action played itself out indeed. Meanwhile, we need to … [Read more...] about And there’s the market’s intraday fade t…

April 29, 2011 by Cody Willard

It's a flattish open, but the story of the day is the 15% drop, the crushing of RIMM. I've kept us out of RIMM and even had it as a short position in the Revolution Investing model portfolio last year before I started trading again where we rode it down from over $100 to some big profits before covering. Microsoft is down a couple percent after reporting a strong quarter, but … [Read more...] about It’s a flattish open, but the story of t…
