Trade Alert – Locking in some profits on some shorts
Ebb when the markets flow and vice versa. We trimmed and got less long at the highs, and now we gently start to get more long exposure as the markets tank.
Two more trades to tell you about that I’m doing here. I’m covering about 1/3 of my GSVC short, which is my biggest short position and has fallen into the single digits. Locking in some profits there from the shares that turned up short in my account when my puts http://tradingwithcody.com/2013/10/22/trade-alert-a-cheaper-way-to-bet-on-some-bubbles-popping/ that were in the money and nicely profitable expired http://tradingwithcody.com/2014/03/24/momentum-gives-way-to-fear-and-other-updates/.
Also, I’ve got a double now in my XRT puts from a few weeks ago http://tradingwithcody.com/2014/03/12/trade-alert-more-insurance-hedging-and-some-call-options-too/ that I put on as part of trying to trim down my net long exposure back when the markets were at all-time highs. I’m selling half of my XRT puts and keeping half.
