Trade Alert: More JRJC profits and Rebecca Diamond talks Wearables on Scutify

Don’t forget to meet me for this week’s Live Q&A Chat at 2pm EST at http://tradingwithcody.com/chat.

JRJC’s descent continues and the stock is now printing with a $6-handle. I’ve trimmed about 1/3 of my puts now, locking in big gains. I’m going to try to sell another 1/3 of my puts here with the stock below $7, but I’m not in a rush and am putting offers out to sell them below where the ask is right now.

Join me Thursday morning for a Virtual Presentation at MoneyShow.com. “A Straightforward Approach to Using Options in Your Portfolio” is Thursday, September 18, 2014, from 8-9am EST at the MoneyShow.com.

Could this be the new iPhone 6? Is this where we are heading??!!!!

@CodyWillard Cool video! However, I worry about privacy. Everyone can see your screen….not that I’m looking at anything scandalous online hehe! What companies/stocks are involved in this futuristic technology?

My answer:

The best plays on the futuristic User Interfaces are the platform makers themselves — $AAPL and$GOOG and it’s why I’ve owned each for more than a decade. The privacy point you make is a great one. Maybe you’ll just be able to broadcast the display onto your own palm. The Google Glass #Wearable doesn’t have the privacy issue but I don’t know how mainstream the Eyepiece on Your Face look will ever be.

$HIMX, which I own, makes the optical splitter and little glass piece that you see on the$GOOG Google Glass. But I think it’s probably way too early to look for the big winners of projection technologies for smartphones since the prototypes haven’t even been conceived of entirely, much less beta’d. Give it three years and we’ll probably see some IPO’s of smartphone projector pureplays.@RebeccaDiamond

To be clear, $HIMX is a very speculative investment as Google Glass is far from ready for mainstream and there will be new/different/more suppliers to it when it finally does go to market in a couple or three more years, I’d guess.$GOOG and $AAPL remain the best and (relatively) safest plays on the Futuristic Smartphones / Projectors / Wearables Revolution.
