What’s that I hear, a selloff? The 150 point decline in the DJIA this morning is a 2/3 of 1% move that means that the DJIA is now 2/3 of 1% of its all-time highs. Steady as she goes?

Maybe, maybe not. There’s a bit of worry building in the action today, something I haven’t “spidey-sensed” in many months. CMG -15%, TSLA -3%, AMD -12% (remember that I’ve long said I prefer NVDA to AMD and that I just don’t quite trust AMD’s management — today’s earnings report from AMD reaffirms that. Of course, NVDA could also get hit by a 10% post-earnings sell-off at some point soon too.)

And GE — oh my goodness, what a mess that company is. A couple, three years ago when I was writing all those bearish articles about why I thought oil/energy was a terrible investment, GE was busy investing in energy-related businesses. The stock is a mess and while there might be a great trading opportunity to catch a 20% pop in the name here around $21 for the near-term, there’s not anything there to get excited about for the long-term.

And Under Armour UA — oh my goodness to that stock chart too. “U-G-L-Y, you ain’t got no alibi, UA ugly, UA ugly.” That one actually has me intrigued here, as I’ve long thought that UA is a potential stealth-play on The Wearables Revolution and the company has invested a lot money in apps and technology. With the stock down 85% from its all-time highs a couple years ago, there’s a chance I might take a little bit of a nibble on this name at some point.

Recent IPO, MongoDB is another name that I’m warming up to. My app company’s CTO, Kheang Ly, is a big fan of MongoDB’s products and that’s got me digging in more on this name. Any of you dear subscribers use MongoDB and/or have other insights into the company? Love to hear from you if so — just hit reply on this email or email me at support@tradingwithcody.com.

Patience for now, I’ve already been raising some cash by taking some big profits lately, I’m not in a rush to add more hedges, and I’m, as usual, trying to be cool.

See you/talk to you soon at the Trading With Cody Live Q&A Chat at 2pm ET today.
